About the service

SchoolFinder helps parents and guardians discover and compare schools in the UK. It is an independent information and research tool. We are not a school, a local authority, an admissions body, or an agent for any school, and using SchoolFinder does not create any application to, or relationship with, any school.

Accuracy of information — important

School information on SchoolFinder is compiled from public sources (including the Department for Education’s “Get Information about Schools” register, and inspection bodies such as Ofsted and the ISI) together with editorial summaries, some of which are generated or estimated. Figures such as fees, exam results, admissions criteria, key dates and inspection outcomes can change and may contain errors or be out of date.

You must not rely on SchoolFinder as your sole source of information for any decision. Always confirm fees, deadlines, admissions requirements and other important details directly with the school before acting. We give no warranty that the information is accurate, complete or current.

Acceptable use

You agree to use SchoolFinder lawfully and not to:

• Copy, scrape, harvest or bulk-extract data from the site, or use automated systems to access it, except as permitted by law.
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the site or its systems.
• Use the site to break any law or infringe anyone’s rights.
• Reproduce or republish substantial parts of the site’s content without our permission.

Accounts

If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly at privacy@schoolfinder.info if you think your account has been compromised.

Intellectual property

The design, branding, editorial content and compilation of SchoolFinder belong to SchoolFinder or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Underlying public data (for example from Get Information about Schools) is used under the Open Government Licence and remains the property of its original publishers. You may view and use the site for your own personal, non-commercial research.

External links and third parties

The site links to school and third-party websites. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content or practices. Some outbound links may be affiliate or referral links, meaning we could earn a commission at no extra cost to you — this never affects how schools are ranked or presented.

No warranties and limitation of liability

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site or its information, including decisions made about schools or admissions.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.

Changes and governing law

We may update the site and these terms at any time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute.
